The Alcatel-Lucent 1830 range of Photonic Service Switches work effectively in a broad range of deployments to ensure your networks meet traffic demands – no matter the situation.
Examine any 1830 product and you’ll see its impressive versatility. It combines WDM photonic switching and ODU electronic switching to create a flexible transport layer that allows responsive wavelength routing and multi-layer switching.
That single shelf also creates a combined ROADM and scalable ODUk switch so admins can seamlessly integrate packet or SDH/SONET data transport. Elsewhere, the 1830’s centralised SDN and distributed GMPLS systems deliver reliable and smart network control in every situation.
The 1830 includes Wavelength Tracker to monitor your network, and it supports up to 88 wavelengths and 50GHz ITU WDM per fibre pair. It also covers a broad range of networking topologies, including point-to-point and optical mesh.
Elsewhere, Alcatel-Lucent’s 1830 range supports CDC-F wavelength routing, high-security and low-latency encryption and services certified for Carrier Ethernet 2.0.
These units support 40BGB/s, 100GB/s and 200GB/s channel capacities without interfering with existing 10GB/s traffic, and they include 1TB/s and 2TB/s full-duplex universal switch matrixes.
