Secure data wiping & hard drive destruction

It is widely accepted that secure data wiping and hard drive destruction is key to keeping sensitive data safe and secure. Despite this fact, data breaches remain a common news headline worldwide. Though you may believe your data has been erased, in many cases, it is still easily accessible with the right blend of data recovery software and technological know-how.

Can you imagine what would happen if your data fell into the wrong hands? How much sensitive information could be retrieved by hackers? And what would your customers’ reaction be to a breach?

Our solution to this problem is simple

At TXO, we provide certified data wiping and physical destruction solutions for organisations with the most stringent data security requirements. All work is accompanied by an itemised and internationally recognised certificate of destruction, proving that your data has been disposed of in a responsible manner. We securely erase your data using the world’s leading data erasure software: Blancco.

  • With our on-site data erasure service, TXO’s engineers come to you and wipe the hard drives in situ. Your personnel can monitor the entire operation – eliminating any possible chain of custody concerns. Once we erase the data stored on your assets, data recovery is impossible.
  • Another popular option for customers is our off-site data erasure service. Here we scan the details of your hard drives at point of collection so that the serial numbers can be reconciled with the certificate of destruction. Your devices are then transported to one of our secure facilities within locked storage containers for added security before the data is permanently deleted.

Ensure you achieve ultimate physical destruction of your hard drives

As long as data remains on your hard drives, it is at risk of a breach. Hard drive destruction eliminates all chances of your data being recovered through future advancements in data recovery techniques that are currently unknown.

  • When we destroy your hard drives, your devices are catalogued by part code and serial number and then physically shredded to 20mm fractions. The hard drive shredding process completely destroys the drive platters, mechanisms, and the electronic components rendering the data unrecoverable. Of course, it also means your device cannot be reused or recycled (unlike data erasure).
  • Destruction can be conducted at your facility with mobile shredders or at our secure IT asset disposal (ITAD) facility. And there is the option to combine physical destruction with secure data erasure.

Data security when equipment reaches the end of its useful life

Every company has to deal with the issue of hardware that has reached the end of its useful life. Regardless of whether your equipment gets resold, repurposed, discarded or buried in deep storage – any data it contains must be treated by a certified data erasure and destruction company. This removes the risk of unwanted access.

Research independently conducted by the Ponemon Institute, and published by IBM Security, has revealed that the average total cost of a data breach in 2020 is $3.86M. Added to this, cybercrime damages are expected to reach more than $27 billion by 2025, according to a recent Atlast VPN report.

Let us protect you, your company and your customers from costly data breach mistakes with a 100% tamper-proof audit trail.
