We’ve changed the way we power our business for good

Climate change is the defining crisis of our generation and the world is seeing the radical effects at a fast pace. Despite this, experts believe that the race against the climate crisis can still be won if stronger action is taken right now. We must all accept that climate change is happening and that each of us have our part to play; however big or small.

That’s why, here at TXO, we have made the switch to 100% renewable electricity. It means that the electricity powering our UK operations now comes purely from renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydro. All backed by Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificates (REGOs) and independently verified by EcoAct to guarantee that the energy provided is in fact as ‘green’ as it claims.

Since shifting to 100% renewable electricity we are proud to confirm that we have reduced our electrical carbon footprint to zero. Not only is it the right thing to do, but with sustainability at our company’s core, this step is a huge success in response to our environmental goals. We are constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to address sustainability issues and we won’t stop here.

The importance of renewable electricity

In today’s climate crisis it is more important than ever for us to do all we can to support a healthy environment. We should all follow in the footsteps of the big operators, such as Vodafone and Virgin Media in the move towards renewable electricity and partner with companies, like ours, with the green credentials to match.

The UK government recently released their pledge for the UK to become a world leader in green energy by upping the ante on electricity produced by wind power. We’re pleased to be partnering with offshore energy companies such as IV Offshore and Energy to support their offshore communications networks with a package of communications, navigation and weather modules in the UK Southern North Sea. We’re already part of the movement towards clean energy and it is great to see the UK providing initiatives for other organisations to do the same. In response to this pledge, we will hopefully see more organisations move towards more sustainable electricity sources.

We’re proud to continue to improve our processes and work towards our environmental targets. To talk to a member of our team about anything above and our environmental initiatives, please contact us.
