Alcatel MPR 9500

The 9500 Microwave Packet Radio is a microwave radio system from Alcatel Lucent, now Nokia portfolio.

It is widely used throughout the world for backhaul in a mobile networks for 2G and 3G. It supports legacy PDH and Ethernet and so is used where migration to Ethernet is required. It was used widely in the transition of backhaul networks from TDM (Time- Division Multiplexing) to all IP. The system is also still widely used in North America.

Ethernet at rates of 10Mb/s and 100Mb/s as well as 1Gbp/s is supported and on the radio side 6/11/15/18 and 38 GHz frequencies are used.

Alcatel MPR 9500 Repair Services

TXO has a reference system comprising two IDU (indoor units) and a range of ODU (outdoor units) so that the complete link can be replicated. In Alcatel terminology the IDU is known as the MSS (Microwave Service Switch). Shown in the picture above is two MSS-8 shelves or sub-racks. The function of the MSS is cross-connection, switching and overall system management. TXO has the engineering capability and expertise to repair all of the cards that fit into the IDU and also the ODUs and also to perform a proper traffic test to confirm satisfactory performance of the card or ODU.
