We have an exciting opportunity for a Dispatch Operative (DISPA) to join our fast-growing company based in Hanover, MD, USA

Job function

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Dispatch Operative is responsible for the verification, inspection, cleaning, packaging and labelling of stock presented by pickers for shipment in an ESD-protected environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain active and close communications with the Dispatch Manager and/or Team Leaders to ensure dispatch activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Print sales orders from the X3 database and assign to Pickers for collection from the warehouse.
  • Operating in an ESD-sensitive environment and the daily testing of personal ESD heal/wrist straps.
  • Following all health & safety related policies and procedures, including but not limited to PPE, manual handling and safe working practices. In addition, you will be responsible for your own safety and that of others.
  • Liaise with Sales Execs, Booking In, Shipping Coordinator and Finance to ensure order accuracy and to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure accurate identification of goods picked.
  • Identification of counterfeit, damaged, mislabelled goods and identification of items beyond economic repair.
  • Cleaning, packaging and labelling of goods for shipment.
  • Booking in of green stock and non-defective returned items.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data entered into the Sage X3 database.
  • Safe movement and handling of goods.
  • Picking of stock from specified warehouse locations.
  • Safe operation of forklift, reach and hand trucks.

Other

  • Interface with other internal departments as required ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and quality of process.
  • Follow all of our company policies and procedures, including but not limited to quality, health and safety, environment and information security.
